Abstract
We establish the relation between Morse index and Maslov-type index of the discrete and continuous second order Hamiltonian system and obtain that mh,ω− keeps bounded for the discrete second order system as N → ∞, which is different from that of J. Robbin and D. Salamon for the first order system.
