Abstract
A new type of multi-dimensional charge transfer functional groups, which can be used in ferroelectric liquid crystals, are proposed and theoretically studied. The undertaken quantum chemistry calculations indicate that the second order nonlinear optical properties of such functional groups are comparable with those of well-known one-dimensional charge transfer molecules. The change of hyperpolarizability of functional groups in host have been studied. Strong enhancement induced by co-operative effects in the complex are predicted.
