Abstract

Both composite frame and composite steel plate shear wall have the strong points, such as high bearing capacities, better energy dissipation ability, and so on. If composite steel shear walls are installed in composite frames, a new kind of composite structures is composed. In this paper, the seismic behavior of this kind of new composite structures is analyzed. The finite element software OpenSees is applied to create the model, which is based on the 20-storey Benchmark model. The nonlinear dynamic response of this kind of composite structure under different ground motion strengths is analyzed. Also, the influence of shear wall rigidity-to-composite frame rigidity ratio is studied. The analytical results show that the strength of ground motion has evident influence on the response of structure. And the rigidity ratio varying from 3 to 4 is more reasonable.
