Abstract

The level structures of108,110,112Ru(Z = 44) and112,114,115,116,117,118Pd (Z = 46) have been significantly expanded through studies of prompt γ-γ-γ and γ-γ-γ-γ coincidences observed with Gammasphere following the spontaneous fission of252Cf. Chiral doublet bands were observed in110,112Ru. Softness to triaxiality perturbs the bands of 108Ru and even-N Pd isotopes. In112Ru, evidence for wobblingmotion is found in the behavior of the γ vibrational band. Similar evidence for wobbling motion is found in114Pd, the N = 68 isotone of112Ru. A transition from triaxial prolate to triaxial oblate was found in112116Pd with shape coexistent bands in115Pd. New levels were observed in162,163Gd.
