Abstract
The problem of networked predictive control for linear systems with communication delay in the feedback channel is investigated. A state feedback networked predictive controller and an observer-based output feedback networked predictive controller are both designed to compensate for the network-induced delay actively. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the closed-loop system are derived when the network-induced delay is measured accurately. When there is a mismatch in the network-induced delay, stability of the closed-loop system is also investigated and sufficient stability conditions are obtained. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the efficacy of the proposed method.
