Abstract
As the main transmitting signal for distributed network such as WSN or Ad hoc, Ultra wide band signal challenges clock synchronization in network layer. In response to the characteristics of UWB signal, we tentatively put forward clock synchronization should be pair-wised, save network overhead and resist multipath interference. Furthermore, Dual Line Estimation Algorithm (DLEA) that aims at providing network time synchronization using UWB as physical layer is presented. The algorithm works in two steps. In the first step, pair wise synchronization is performed several times to gather two-way data packages. Then dual lines are respectively fitted to the two-way data, thus the drift and offset of node clock are estimated. The simulation results indicate DLEA satisfies the physical requirements using UWB. Moreover, DLEA provides good time synchronization precision and outperforms the previous time synchronization algorithms.
