Abstract

This study presents a detailed study on the absorption efficiency of a dimer structure composed of two gold spheres embedded in air. The absorption efficiency of each sphere is directly calculated by the superposition T-matrix method. The influences of particle size parameter, interparticle distance and polarization of incident light on the absorption efficiency of each sphere are analyzed.
