Abstract
Laminate composite FeMoSiB nanocrystalline ribbon/Ni has been prepared by pulsed capacitor discharging technique. Primary analyses demonstrate that the hardness of the composite is about 2/3 of the nanocrystalline alloy. The toughness of the laminates can be potentially improved because the crack deflection and the plastic deformation of the soft Ni layers have been observed in the fracture of alternate laminates.
