Abstract
This letter presents a novel dual-polarized multiple-mode wideband antenna for the Long Term Evolution (LTE) application. The proposed antenna consists of two mutually perpendicular dipole units with similar configuration. A prototype antenna is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured antenna achieves a bandwidth of 80% (1620-3527 MHz) at both ports, which covers the entire band of the LTE system. Measured antenna gain is reasonably matched with the simulated result in the operation frequency band. The featured wide bandwidth and miniaturized size make the proposed antenna very promising for applications in various wireless communication and wireless sensing systems.
