Abstract

The multiplicity of the fractional Fourier transform (FRFT), which is intrinsic in any fractional operator, has been claimed by several authors, but never across-the-board developed. Particularly, the weight-type FRFT (WFRFT) has not been investigated. Starting with defining the multifractional Fourier transform (MFRFT), we gained the generalization permutation matrix group (GPMG) representation and multiplicity of the MFRFT, and the relationships among the MFRFT the standard WFRFT and the standard CFRFT. Finally, as a application, a novel image encryption method based on the MFRFT is propounded. Similation results show that this method is safe, practicable and impactful.
