Abstract

Two novel multiband metamaterial absorbers are proposed in this paper. The unit cell of the absorber consists of a metal patch with nested or combined patterns on the upper and lower layers and a metal backplane. Each layer is separated by a medium. The main absorption peaks of the fractal nested structure are at 18.91 GHz, 20.06 GHz, 26.57 GHz and 30.10 GHz. The main absorption peaks of the Jerusalem cross and square ring combination structure are at 11.50 GHz, 14.12 GHz, 18.56 GHz, 29.50 GHz and 31.60 GHz. It is found that the design of nesting and combining metal pattern is beneficial to realize multiband absorbing.
