Abstract

In order to meet the requirements of multiple position signal modes needed in the motor servo control, a multi-mode magnetic encoder with the composite magnetic circuit has been newly designed and manufactured. The encoder is composed of one Chip 2s-10 and three locking switch Hall components. Employing the unique effect of Triaxis Hall, Chip 2s-10 can detect the parallel magnetic field over it, and convert the magnetic field signal into the electrical sine signal and cosine signal. After the original signal errors are analyzed, the errors will be equalized. The angle formed by equalized signals is then calculated through arc tangent function by digital signal processor(DSP). Therefore, the signals of incremental mode, PWM mode, and synchronous serial mode can be output and the signal of three-phase brushless DC motor commutation mode is output as well. Finally, these four different output modes signals are output simultaneously. The signals can reach up to eight signal precision, 10-bit resolution.
