Abstract

In order to meet the requirements of high efficiency and the wide range of input voltage adaptability, a multi-level operating mode half-bridge LLC is obtained. It can operate in two different modes according to the level of input voltage by adjusting the control strategy of three-level LLC resonant converter. The adaptable range of input voltage is hence doubled with the same parameters of resonant elements. The limiting factors on adaptable range of input voltage are defined based on the analysis of the voltage gain characteristics and power loss of LLC converter. After analyzing the multi-level operating mode and its influence on the adaptable range of input voltage, the control strategy is defined. Simulation and experimental results verify that the multi-level operating mode half-bridge LLC has wide input adaptability and high efficiency.
