Modelling of a Dual-side Excited Transverse Flux Permanent Magnet Linear Motor

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In this paper, a dual-side excited transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine was investigated. In consideration of the doubly salient structure caused by the primary and secondary cores, the permeance distribution in the air gap is established firstly. The magnetomotive force (MMF)-permeance theory is employed to calculate armature reactive field distribution. By assuming the equivalent currents of magnets, the thrust force is deduced by using Lorentz force law. Moreover, the 3-D finite element method was employed to validate the rationality of the proposed motor.
