Abstract
To satisfy requires on surgery programming and surgery rehearse based on special patients, a novel method including 10 steps to model and simulate biological tissues based on special CT images is proposed. The geometric model, physical model and mechanical equilibrium equation the based on the strain energy function in modelling and simulating biological tissues based on CT images were built. Biomechanical equations were solved by the finite element method. As an application example, modelling and simulation of femur and soft tissues were given. Validity of the proposed method and the mathematic model was tested to compare the simulated outcome with the results of biomechanical experimentation. Despite the difference between the two kinds of data caused by the experimental error and the simplified model , they match well. Particularly in the range of clinical application, in the range of 2 mm to 8 mm, simulation results satisfy the clinical requirements.
