Abstract

A model of coupled dynamics for hypersonic air-breathing vehicle/engine had been developed to analyze the couplings among flight dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion and integrated control. The validity and practicability of the modeling process had been testified by conducting a simulation. A conclusion had been drawn that due to a coupled dynamics of integrated hypersonic vehicle/engine, besides the normal operation mode, the union of flight vehicle/engine may operate near some safe limits and may even exceed them, which may cause a failure of flight. Various safe bound would request various relevant operation modes and thereby various control modes. Thus an independent flight control and fuel control in traditional sense would fail to satisfy the control demand and a tough challenge must be confronted for integrated flight/propulsion control design.
