Abstract
A mathematic model of the average and the worst on-line delay of the periodic message is built in this paper. The stuffed bits are determined, and a test platform is designed to test the delay in CAN communication through which the reliability of the mathematic model is validated. The model of average on-line delay is so approach to the actual measurement, which indicates the precision of the model. The model of the worst on-line delay is conservative to the actual measurement, which indicates the reliability of the model.
