Abstract

A three-dimensional coupling motion model is established for the description of conical spiral maneuvering of ballistic missiles. From two conical spiral maneuvering modes, a uniform state equation to describe the target motion is derived. The state equation is linear and only concerned with the target maneuver frequency. The discrete form of the state equation is proposed, and a tracking filter is designed with coordinate transformation method for the conical spiral maneuvering targets. Simulation results show that the proposed model and design method exhibit good tracking performance for a conical spiral maneuvering ballistic missile.
