Abstract

In the needs of wind-induced fatigue research and structural life-cycle design, the probability distributional characteristics of fatigue wind speed was analyzed with the wind speed data of Liaoning, Shenzhen and Bohai areas. Analysis shows that, Weibull distribution can be used to compile the fatigue wind speed spectrum. Its shape parameters are important parameters to fatigue wind speed probability distribution. Value of shape parameter vary for different areas. For the probability distribution of fatigue wind speed per year, shape parameters of Chang-hai(Liaoning), Shenzhen and Bohai areas are about 1.7, 2.3 and 2.0, respectively. Also, a simplified method is proposed herein to get the parameters of fatigue wind speed spectrum. The study can provide basic data for structure design and accumulative fatigue damage analysis, and is of reference value for compiling fatigue wind speed spectrum and understanding the characteristics of fatigue wind speed distribution.
