Abstract

Multi-channel and multi-radio wireless mesh networks (WMNs), one of next generation network techniques, was arranged to cover larger extension and provide better wireless communication. WMNs, multi-hop wireless networks contribute to expand the territory of wired network and reduce upfront. Given several traffic demands on gateway nodes in the backbone network, how to fulfill them in minimum transmission period is one important issue. This problem is studied in this paper. Traffic flows are evenly allocated within network and more than one channel is assigned on one link, if network interface cards are enough. In addition, our simulation shows that, technology presented in this paper can improve network performance greatly. Transmission period is much smaller than that of centralized greedy channel assignment and minimum hop routing. At the same time, network average interference can be reduced by a certain degree.
