Abstract

A millimeter wave dual linearly polarized microstrip antenna array is proposed for ultra-wideband communications. To achieve the dual linear polarization, the microstrip antenna unit is fed by a two-port slit coupling. The bandwidth of the antenna is expanded by loading parasitic patches. By reasonably designing the feed network of the antenna array, the isolation is improved while realizing efficient feeding. The antenna achieves dual linearly polarized radiation at 33-37 GHz with a maximum gain of 11 dBi and more than 15 dB isolation.
