Abstract
Microwave-induced pyrolysis of sewage sludge was carried out to produce bio-gas and the characteristics of gaseous products were identified in this study. The analysis by GC showed that microwave pyrolysis generated gases with a high proportion (up to 56%) of CO and H2, which had relatively high overall heating values. The gases have potential applications as fuel. Moreover, the content of H2S and nitrogen-containing gases were also investigated to evaluate the safety of this method.
