Abstract
In this paper, the microstructure, wear and corrosion resistance of laser-alloyed M80S20 alloy layers with or without CeO2 were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy observation, electron probe microanalysis, energy-dispersive analysis of X-rays, microhardness testing, wear testing and corrosion testing. The results show that the addition of CeO2 can significantly improve the microstructure, wear and corrosion resistance of laser-alloyed layers.
