Abstract

In this study, the microstructure evolution of high Nb-TiAl based alloys with low Al (Ti-44Al-8Nb-0.1B), medium Al (Ti-47Al-8Nb-0.1B) and high Al (Ti-50Al-8Nb-0.1) under low-temperature heat treatment and low-temperature stress heat treatment is studied by changing the percentage of Al in high Nb-TiAl based alloys. The detailed research results show that during the heat treatment process of high Nb-TiAl, the proportion of γ phase in the alloy increases with the increase of the percentage of Al. Compared with Ti-44Al-8Nb-0.1B and Ti-50Al-8Nb-0.1B alloys, Ti-47Al-8Nb-0.1B alloy is easier to obtain (α2 + γ) lamellar structure. In addition, compared with the stress-free low-temperature heat treatment, another variant needle-like γ phase of γ phase is found under the condition of low-temperature stress heat treatment.
