Microstructure characteristics of the nickel matrix in electrodeposited Ni-PSZ gradient coating

Abstract

the microstructure and orientation of the nickel matrix in electrodeposited Ni-PSZ gradient coating, were investigated. With the increase in the PSZparticle content in gradient coating through thickness, the nickel grains gradually become fine and even and the defects in the nickel matrix gradually decrease due to increasing cathodic polarization during electrodeposition. The nickel matrix in gradient coating has intensive preferred orientation of [200] planes which slightly weakens with the increase in the PSZ content. Heat-treatment eliminates the microstructural change of the nickel matrix, but has no influence on preferred orientation of the nickel matrix.
