Abstract
The effects of Co content on microstructure and martensitic transformation of Ni56Fe17Ga27-xCox alloys have been investigated by optical microscope, XRD and DSC methods. The experiment results showed that the microstructure of as-melted alloys was composed of martensitic phase and γ phase at room temperature. The volume fraction of γ phase increased with Co content increasing. Particularly, in Ni56Fe17Ga21Co6 alloy, the volume fraction of y phase increased up to 70%. The crystal structure of the martensite phase was determined to be 6 M. The alloys exhibited one-step martensitic transformation during the process of cooling and heating. With the increase of Co content, the Ms and As temperatures increased.
