title = "Microstructure and high-temperature properties of SI-B-C-N MA-powders and ceramic",
abstract = "Nano-sized Si-B-C-N powders nearly amorphous was prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) technique using cubic silicon (c-Si), hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) and graphite (C) as starting materials, then consolidated at 1900°C under a pressure of 40 MPa for 30 min in N2 by hot-pressing. The MA Si-B-C-N powders and ceramics show good oxidation resistance. The weight gain of the Si-B-C-N powder was only 12.3 wt\% till 1400°C in air for TG analysis. And it was found that the existence of B-C-N bond in the MA Si-B-C-N powder and ceramics could improve their oxidation resistance. For the Si-B-C-N ceramics, dense and coherent oxide layer could be formed after being oxidized at high temperature and very good oxidation resistance was shown. When oxidized at 1200°C for 85 h in dry atmosphere for the ceramic, a oxidation layer of 9.6 μm in thickness formed. When oxidized at 1050°C for 85 h in humid atmosphere, however, the oxidation layer reached 20.2 μm in thickness.",
