Abstract
Al-Pb alloy was prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) and vacuum hot-pressed sintering, and microstructure was refined by hot-extrusion. The XRD analysis showed that the profile of both Al and Pb diffraction peaks broadened in the process of the mechanical alloying, and the grain size of Al, Pb decreased. The SEM showed that the alloy powders can be got after 15h of the ball-milling, with the phase composite structure of the Pb depressed on the Al matrix. The bulk of Al-Pb alloy was obtained by vacuum hot-pressing sintering at 550°C and 20 MPa for one hour. The structure can be refined and size of the Pb particles can be decreased by appropriate hot extrusion. The tensile strength and elongation can reach 231.6 MPa and 17.6%.
