Microstrip patch antenna with metallodielectric electromagnetic crystals as a substrate

Abstract

The influence of a substrate of metallodielec-tric electromagnetic crystals on properties of microstrip planar antennas is theoretically investigated. Simulations made by means of 3D FDTD code have revealed that the use of such substrates might greatly improve performances of existing antennas.
