Abstract
In this work, the fatigue live of aluminum alloys with the different MAO coating thicknesses in environmental media including air, the 3.5 wt. % and 5.0 wt. % NaCl aqueous solutions were investigated. The rotation bending corrosion fatigue tests were carried out in the different environmental media. And the corrosion fatigue life is a range from 104-108, aluminum alloys consist of low strength aluminum alloy and high strength aluminum alloy. Subsequently, the effects of oxidation coating thickness on the corrosion fatigue fracture were microscopically analyzed based on both the surface patterns and the fracture surfaces of samples. These results indicated the corrosion fatigue multi-cracking mechanism of aluminum alloys with oxidation coating layer which is different from the pit-cracking mechanism of pre-corrosion fatigue of aluminum alloys.
