Abstract

Constructing a panoramic model of bridges without the use of parametric modeling methods to provide a visualization platform for high-precision, high-efficiency, and low-cost health monitoring and condition diagnosis of bridges has always been a challenge in the field of intelligent infrastructure maintenance. This approach has also aimed to promote the development and application of green, low-carbon, and energy-efficient technologies. To address the aforementioned issues, a digital twins construction method for bridge using panoramic images was proposed in this paper by image acquisition devices such as panoramic tripods and fisheye lenses, as well as image stitching algorithms including spherical projection distortion and SURF. The practical application of the method validated its effectiveness on some bridges on the Liaoyang expressway, while also providing a reference for the visualized monitoring and maintenance of bridges, as well as the development of smart and energy-efficient cities.
