Method of designing software laser fuze

Abstract

Ranging accuracy is one of the important parameters which arc used to evaluate performance of laser fuze. Threshold method is often adopted to detect analog signal, but if the waveform of detected laser signal distorts or fluctuates with extraneous disturbances, using threshold method often leads to large measurement error and low accuracy. This paper presents a scheme of software laser fuze based DSP, designs modularized circuit, analyses functional modules and relations among the modules. A new waveform centroidal method is given to locate measure reference by digital waveform processing technology. We compare waveform centroidal method with threshold method by computer simulation, the results indicate that the lower false alarm probability, false dismissal probability and the higher ranging accuracy can be acquired by waveform centroidal method.
