Abstract

A calculation method is established for phase change process of coupling radiation and conduction of one-dimensional semitransparent materials based on the meshless reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM), to dealing with graded index problem by solving the gradient refractive index radiative transfer equation, and the equivalent heat capacity method is used for latent heat absorption and release. The temperature response characteristics of one dimensional solidification process of crystalline and amorphous semitransparent material has been calculated, considering the influence of refractive index change to the phase change process. The results show that the RKPM method can well simulate radiative transfer problem containing phase change process comparing the results with those in the literatures, and has good precision.
