Abstract

This article investigates the rotor stress field and vibration issues in high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). The factors influencing stress distribution in high-speed rotors are analyzed, and a reasonable rotor sleeve for target motor is designed. Subsequently, to quickly evaluate the sleeve design, the analytical method for calculating rotor stress in high-speed surface-mounted PMSMs is proposed, and the results are compared with those obtained from the finite element method (FEM). Finally, to flexibly adjust the critical speed of target motor, this article studies the influence of the rotor's mechanical structural parameters on its critical speed.
