Abstract

A fiber sensor based on the principle of the Beckmann's scattering model consists of a multi-model fiber and a gradient lens, and is made so small that it can obtain the roughness information inside a part. The measurement area of the designed fiber sensor is Rq < 200nm, using He-Ne laser, λ = 632.8nm, as light resource. The measurement system using the sensor realizes auto-measurement with the help of computer and the experiments demonstrate that the system can be used to measure surface roughness inside by comparing the measurement result of Talysurf system. The paper also analyses the experimental datum and the applied range of the measurement system.
