Abstract

In order to measure ripple torque of PM brushless DC motor two types of testing method of ripple torque were developed. One type is direct testing method by which the errors of torque sensor and flywheel are analyzed and the modified torque ripple coefficient is proposed. Another type is indirect testing method by which the current square sum of stator is measured and the ripple torque is determined by Hall sensor and simulation multiplier. The measuring errors were analyzed. The experimental results indicate that two types of testing methods are in good agreement.
