Measurement of rigidity about the aerostatic bearing for precision centrifuge use

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In order to obtain high accurate measuring results of the aerostatic bearing rigidity, two capacitance transducers were mounted in one plane along the main axis of the precision centrifuge to measure the radial displacement of the rotor's geometric axis. Both static imbalance and couple imbalance were set up separately by the dynamic balance executing mechanism which was on the lower and upper correction planes. The vibration vectors from the capacitance transducers were analyzed, and the moment equation about the centrifuge rotor was created, in which the aerostatic bearing rigidity was an unknown quantity. The online automatic measurement of aerostatic bearing rigidity can be realized by a computer from setting up static imbalance and couple imbalance to data acquisition and processing. This method greatly increases the measuring accuracy and efficiency about the aerostatic bearing rigidity.
