Abstract

The wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) reactor with falling film by cross-flow scrubbing was brought forward firstly, in which the finned tubes were applied as the supporter of the falling film. The liquid side mass transfer-reaction model and the desulfurization mass transfer by cross-flow scrubbing model were set up. The pH values of the slurry inside the reactor and the ion concentration distributions of H2SO3. HSO3- and SO32- along the tubes were obtained by analyzing and calculating the two models. The calculation values agreed well with the experimental values, which shows that the model is an effective method for the computation of the liquid side mass transfer-reaction process, and that is will offer the theoretic support for the design and optimization of the desulfurization reactor by cross-flow scrubbing.
