Abstract
A study was conducted to investigate the ballistic missile (BM) maneuver-strategy-design problem in which the maneuver-strategy design required to take account of the energy cost that would affect the payload of the BM directly. It was demonstrated that a periodic maneuver involving weaving and barrel roll was implemented easily without causing large miss distance to its designated target. The ballistic maneuver was considered in the study to alter the ballistic trajectory of a BM instead of evading from an interceptor directly. Methods were proposed to evaluate the maneuver consequence quantitatively the maneuver consequences were analyzed and the optimal maneuver was designed considering the defense system required to meet these objectives. A BM anti-interception scenario was also consideration, in which there were two opposite sides, such as a BM and a BM defense system.
