Abstract

A new kind of low-complexity iterative block decision feedback equalization with noise prediction (LCNP-IBDFE) algorithm is proposed in this paper in order to suppress Inter-symbol Interference (ISI) and improve the spectral efficiency for Single Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) systems. We use the Unique Word (UW) to be the cyclic prefix and the pilot just like IEEE802.16a. The UW is not need to delete in receiver, so the overhead of system is low. The iterative part designed by Mean Square Error (MSE) criterion is in the frequency domain, and the coefficients of the filter can be kept unchanged in each iteration for the given channel frequency response. The noise prediction method is also adopted to improve the equalization accuracy. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than the conventional equalization methods, and the complexity of our method is lower than traditional IBDFE.
