Abstract
In fault diagnosis, it is primary to determine the diagnosis parameters and the measuring methods. Through the simulating experiments the faults of electric machine are studied, such as: the circuit short of phases and windings of stator, the break of the squirrel cage and the eccentric of the rotor. The influence of the faults on the properties of electromagnetism, vibration and acoustics are also discussed. Then the fault models of electrical machine are established, including direct and indirect faults. By using the logical diagnostic method, the mini-diagnostic test set and the corresponding monitoring parameters are obtained through Boolean matrix. By monitoring the third harmonic of voltage and current in the windings, the fault type can be identified during its initial stage, and then the technical status of electric machine can be determined quickly using the proposed algorithm.
