Abstract

A new location algorithm uses midperpendicular plane segmentation is given for DOA/TDOA location system. This approach first plots all the location results into a cuboids, cuts the cuboids into some cubes, then uses midperpendicular plane segmentation to eliminate some cubes which are not existing awaiting location nodes, and gets the mean of the left cubes' centroids as the final location result. The simulation result indicates that the new method increases the location precision, avoids the iterative starting value selection, guarantees the location method's validity and reduces the work load.
