Live load criterion and disaster load fortification level of structures: Influence of working life

Abstract

This paper aims at to offer characteristic values of structure's live loads corresponding to various working life. Structural reliability characters are analyzed, and it is shown that working life is characters of structural reliability in time. The live load should be determined that the exceedance probabilities of live load for different design working life equal to that for conventional design loads. Besed on the relationship built between different design working life, different design reference period and live load characters, the characteristic values of live loads and disaster loads of structures for different working life are given in light of equivalent exceedance probability criterion.
