Abstract

Linear modeling of aero engines based on equilibrium manifold expansion (EME) model is investigated. Construction process of the EME model is discussed, and theoretical basis of obtaining linear models of a nonlinear plant from its EME model is given. The valid area of linear model and EME expansion model is compared, indicting that a larger perturbation signal could be used to identify the EME model. The simulation results show that this linear modeling method is effective.
