Law and control of die-filling defect of corss rib for web-rib component

Abstract

LD10 aluminum corss-web-rib component was applied to study the effect of draft angle and radius on die filling and defect initiation. The result showed that: the larger the die cavity radius is, the better the die filling is. When the die cavity radius is increased to a fixed value, the die filling of rib is becoming bad for volume of die cavity. There is a peak value for the effect of draft angle on die filling. When the draft angle is small, die filling of rib increases with the increase of draft angle. When the draft angle is large, die filling of rib decreases with the increase of draft angle.
