Abstract

Currently, liquid rocket engines with 490N thrust or the same level are widely used to provide thrust for spacecraft apogee injecting or other orbit maneuvers. Apogee engines used on the Chinese 3-axis stabilized geostationary satellites were supplied by Shanghai Institute of Space Propulsion(SISP). Until now two generation engines have been developed and the third generation engine is in development. The vacuum specific impulse of the three generation engines using propellant of MON-1/MMH is 305s, 315s and 323s respectively. Focusing on the development of 750N high-performance Liquid Apogee Engine(LAE) with niobium alloy, the specific impulse can reach more than 321s, and the working life can meet the requirements of 25000 seconds.
