Abstract

BaGa4Se7possesses a number of advantages including large NLO coefficients, high transparency in the wide range, high laser damage threshold, and large birefringence. Our preliminary OPA experiments have achieved high efficiency and high peak power "3-12μm" laser output. OPO pumped by a 2090 nm laser has achieved maximum output power of 1.55 W containing the signal (3.92 μm) and idler (4.46 μm). and optical rectification has also realized narrow band 2 THz output. These results indicate BaGa4Se7is a very promising new crystal for practical application.
