Abstract
An effective CW and pulsed laser operation was demonstrated using a grown-together Nd:YVO4/YVO4 composite rod. The slope efficiencies of 72.97% and 57.23% to absorbed pump power in multi-mode and TEM00 mode were reached, respectively. In A-O Q-switched operation, a maximum average output power of about 10.5 W, a pulse width of 19.8 ns and a peak power of about 5.3 kW were achieved at 100 kHz. The pulse width kept less than 33 ns at 200 kHz.
