Abstract

Kinetic models based on transition state theory have been used to study the molecular phenomena affecting membrane transport. This preview highlights a recent breakthrough, revealing the phenomenon and rate-limiting mechanisms in selective ion transport through establishing comprehensive kinetic barrier networks.
