Judgement of external condensation on pneumatic system

Abstract

The mechanism of external condensation on a pneumatic charging and discharging system was analyzed, and then a convenient judgement method for external condensation on a pneumatic system was proposed. In the judgement method, the initial temperature of components is assumed to equal the dew point of the ambient air, and then the tendency of surface period-temperature of components for several charging and discharging periods is compared considering the coupling heat transfer of the pneumatic components, the inside air and the ambient air. If the period-temperature of components rises, the external condensation will not occur, otherwise the external condensation will occur. The numerical simulation with the two-dimensional axisymmetric model of pneumatic charging and discharging system shows that the proposed judgement method can predict external condensation quickly and accurately.
